There are lots of rowans, mostly European Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) and Swedish Mountain Ash (S. intermedia), growing in Helsinki these days. A few years ago rowans were planted in Vaasankatu to encourage a calming down and cleaning up of the environment. And now they've even planted a couple at the old bus station.
A month ago this tree wasn't here
Rowans belong to my favourite trees, so I'm not complaining. They have beautiful flowers in early summer and berries in autumn. The smell is somewhat musty and nauseating in large quantities, however.
